I love sharing strategies to help you be more successful, but normally they are practical things that you can clearly see will help you achieve success.

However, today I am talking about health, because health is the foundation of success. Without a healthy body, there is just no way you can perform to your best on an ongoing basis.

Most Type A / ambitious / hard-working /overachieving people are known for burning the candle at both ends and doing whatever is necessary, but that will only lead to burn out. So this is a warning now to put your health back on your priority list now and here are my 3 tips to help you do that.

1 – DECIDE ON WHAT YOU CAN COMMIT TO

There are so many ways you could be healthier. Maybe you need to look at your diet, drink more water, get more sleep or do more exercise. Look at your current lifestyle and work out what needs to change. Then decide on what changes you can commit to going forward. This is about creating a healthy lifestyle, so maybe you know you should get 8 hours sleep, but have been living on 5 for the last year, so even committing to 6.5 is an improvement. A step in the right direction is better than no step at all and I don’t want you to revert back to your old ways in a weeks time. So decide what can you commit to going forward.

2 – TRACKING

Once you have made a decision about what you are going to do I suggest you create a tracker. New habits don’t happen overnight and a tracker will help you to remember the new changes you have committed to, but also be able to visually see how well (or not so well) you are doing! This doesn’t have to be fancy. You can use your diary if you have one, make one on a piece of paper or even use an app.

3 – SCHEDULE

For the larger commitments, I would recommend you schedule it into your diary. Some people (and are hope you are one of them) are good at following their diary, but they don’t actually write ‘gym’ as a slot in the diary. Well no wonder why they never have the time. So if you have committed to exercise write in your diary when you are going to do it and if you committed to more sleep then decide what your bedtime will be and create an alarm on your phone to remind you.

So my 3 tips for putting health back on your agenda were to decide on what changes you were going to make, create a tracker and schedule activities. Health is so important, but I know how easy it can be to let it slip when you are taking over the world. Don’t let it happen to you.

I would love to know the comments below one change you are going to make to help improve your health.
