It’s the end of January now and that fresh feeling of a New Year seems a long time ago. Did you set your some annual goals or New Years Resolution that you have already forgotten? Well, that just isn’t good enough. If you can’t remember your goals then you definitely won’t be achieving them.
So here are my top tips to ensure that if someone asked you your goals you could quickly share them like a pro.
Tip 1 – Write your goals down every day
I know that this sounds extreme, but this is a full-proof way of ensuring you don’t forget your goals. I first came across this tip from Money Mindset queen Denise Duffield-Thomas. Since coming across the tip I have incorporated it into my daily routine and trust me, I never forget my goals anymore.
Tip 2 – Put reminders around your home
Once I have set my goals on the 1st January I write them down and put them on the back of my bedroom door. This means that every morning when I open the door and every night when I go to bed I see my goals again and take a moment to read them.
For some people having their goals in their room is a bit intense (especially if you share it with other people or you want your bedroom to be a place of peace and serenity), so you could try putting reminders somewhere else that you look often. You could try the fridge door, the back of the toilet door or the side of your computer screen. The location isn’t important just make sure it is somewhere you normally look every day.
Tip 3 – Use your phone to remind you
Another option, especially for those who can’t implement Tip 2, is to use your phone as a reminder. If you are a digital nomad, or just prefer to keep your goals a bit more private then you can use your phone to remind you. There are two ways you can do this. Firstly, you can create a personalised screensaver. For example, I have created a screensaver that has my 3 focus words for the year on it and you can easily do the same thing, but with your goals. The other thing you can do is set reminders on your phone that go off at a certain time every day.
That’s it – 3 tips to ensure you don’t forget your goals.
