Is your theme song Everyday I’m Hustlin’ by Rick Ross? If so, then you might think that self-care is for wimps, but it isn’t! Self-care is essential for everyone, and probably even more essential if you are a hustler. So keep on reading to find out these top self-care tips for hustlers.

 

As a hustler, you could easily keep on going, but you need to be looking after yourself. You only have one body and one mind and it is important to be looking after it so it can work the best it possibly can for you.

 

The aim isn’t to work so hard that you reach burn out. You want to find a balance where you can work at an optimum level for a long-time and self-care plays a major role in that.

 

 

GET ENOUGH SLEEP

If you are a hustler than it is likely you are eager to work all day and night. However, it is counter-productive. Sleep is essential for you to perform at your peak. When you are asleep your body and mind perform essential tasks that ensure you are functioning at your best.

 

Ideally, you want to be aiming for 7-8 hour per night and that doesn’t mean 5 hours all week and then a lie-in on the weekend. You need to be focused on consistently getting a good night sleep.

SCHEDULE BREAKS

Working 365 days a week, 24 hours a day isn’t possible. In a similar way to sleep, you need to be taking breaks so that you can then return refreshed and rejuvenated. Also, creativity isn’t confined to a desk and you can often find you have your most creative work ideas when you aren’t working.

 

As a hustler, it is likely that you struggle with taking breaks, especially if you feel that you have lots still to do and achieve but you need to take them!

 

To help you take the necessary breaks you need schedule them in advance. A break could be anything from blocking out an evening, a weekend or an extended fortnight holiday.

 

FIND YOUR STRESS RELIEVER

As a hustler, you are likely to get stressed from time to time. Stress is a natural part of like and the more you push yourself out of your comfort zone and take on bigger roles and responsibilities the more stress you are likely to feel.

 

There is nothing wrong with stress, but you need to find ways to cope with it and ideally relieve your stress. Relieving stress looks different to everyone. However, some common stress relievers include exercise, being in the outdoors and meditation. What your stress reliever is doesn’t matter, but what is important is you figure out what helps you to destress.

 

 

DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY

The ultimate goal of hustling hard is to be happy right? Well, you can find happiness and joy right now. You don’t have to wait.

 

For some doing what makes them happy is easy, but for others, like you, it might need some more thought. Make a list of things that make you happy that are quick and easy. Keep that list somewhere easily accessible so you can start incorporating them into your life every day. It could be anything from listening to your favourite song, calling a friend, eating something delicious, playing with your pet.
