The Good Life consists of 11 chapters.
Chapter 1: What Makes a Good Life? Outlines what makes a good life and why the reality is so different to what people imagine. People aren’t great at knowing what is good for them and that is why research, especially longitudinal studies (which the Harvard study is) are so important.
Having identified that the key to happiness is relationships Chapter 2 to 6 explores relationships from different angles. You’ll learn about how relationships are so important, the role relationships play across your whole life, how to assess (and improve) your social fitness, how to better invest in your relationships and how to face challenges in your relationship.
Chapter 7 to 10 focus on specific types of relationships, which a chapter dedicated to intimate relationships, family, relationships at work and then friends.
Then Chapter 11 is the concluding chapter and share how it is never too late to be happy and what the reader can do having finished the book to bring more happiness into their life.
