The Moutain is You doesn’t have a content page (weird I know), but here is how the book is broken up:
Introduction
Chapter 1:The mountain is you
Chapter 2: There’s no such thing as self-sabotage
Chapter 3: Your triggers are the guides to your freedom
Chapter 4: Building emotional Intelligence
Chapter 5: Releasing the past
Chapter 6: Building a new future
Chapter 7: From self-sabotage to self-mastery
Both The Introduction and Chapter 1 both explore what the mountain really is. Brianna talks about the mountain being “the block between you and the life you want to live” and that the mountain is you. She talks about why we self-sabotage and how in order to have a new life we have to lose our old one.
Chapter 2: There’s no such thing as self-sabotage details lots of different ways you can be self-sabotaging at the moment and how to resolve that. The next Chapter, Chapter 3: Your trigger are the guides to your freedom, focuses on the negative emotions we feel and how instead of avoiding them (as many people do) you should instead use them as a sign.
Then in Chapter 4: Building emotional intelligence Brianna states that “self-sabotage is ultimately just a product of low emotional intelligence”. She then goes on to talk about instead of focusing on experience major breakthroughs we need to focus on the microshifts instead. And then the final part of the chapter explores mental strength and the mental trick our brain plays on us.
Chapter 5: Releasing the past shares how when trying to release the past you can’t force that to happen but instead we need to acknowledge it will take time, and in the meantime focus on trying to show up exactly as you are. This chapter also delves into trauma and has some techniques to help with healing.
In Chapter 6: Building a new future Brianna starts by discussing the importance of inner child work and then how to become a truly powerful person. She talks about the need for principles and planning in order to achieve your big dreams and live a meaningful life.
The book ends with Chapter 7: From self-sabotage to self-mastery now that the reader is fully aware of how to what self-sabotage is and how to resolve it, Brianna shares some final thoughts on how to achieve self-mastery and truly enjoy your life.
